Esmeralda is not only a supplier and distributor of its own products, but is also the actual breeder of many innovative and market leading varieties. Established in 1999, Esmeralda Breeding  & Biotechnology has a budget of more than $1 Million a year in research and development of new varieties, and exploring ways to improve upon existing varieties. Esmeralda breeds a large assortment of novelty flowers like Gypsophila, Lisianthus, Hypericum, Asters, Solidago, Limonium, Phlox and many other species. Its varieties are very carefully selected based on disease resistance, color, texture and vase life. These different varieties are then introduced and are exclusively patented and licensed. To date, we have 18 patented varieties that have registered plant breeder's rights.
